CZECK MEMORIES

REPORT FROM THE CZECH REPUBLIC
by Brad Lackey
Just returned from an International race in the Czech Republic. Traveling with me were Team Czechard Past members Mike Tillman and Pete Silva. We all had a great trip!

The race was put on by Vetern Motocross Club Habes u ACR and put on in the same town where the CZ factory is called Strakonice.

A little different from AHRMA, but all good none the less. There were 3 different classes; modern, C-Z class (anything with a C-Z motor) and the veterns.

The C-Z class was way cool, over 65 entries on 1 gate. There were C-Zs in every kind of frame and lots of EVO C-Zs.

In the Vets with me there was one other champ from the past, Zdenek Velky ( 1975 250cc) and 2 vice world champs (as they say in Europe) Jaroslav Falta (1974) and Ove Lundell ( 2nd in 1962 on a Monark). The track was long, ruff and all grass with motos 10 minutes + 2 laps -- about 7 or 8 laps.

In the first moto Falta, Velky and myself changed the lead many times with Velky winning and I was second. The second moto was again a good race with Falta winning, Velky second and I faded to 4th.
Overall: - Velky 1st, CZ, - Lackey 2nd, USA, - Larsson 3rd, Sweden.

Mike Tillman rode his first International race and finished;
1st moto = 12th
2nd moto = 10th
for 10th overall with 25 riders on the gate.
A great ride for mike!!

I and the Czechard Past Boys would like to give a special thanks to Bedrich Bendick for treating us like kings and to every body in the Czech Republic let me say Dobra Pevo!

Thanks, Brad
